Our contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

We align our services for those affected, their families and companies with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and thus demonstrably contribute to an inclusive, innovative and sustainable future.

Our Impact

Since 2004, we have been committed to a society in which diversity is valued and people with visible and invisible disabilities are naturally represented. Accordingly, the following seven Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, SDG 3, SDG 4, SDG 8, SDG 9, SDG 10, and SDG 17) are of particular importance to EnableMe. They are crucial for ensuring that people with disabilities can participate independently in all areas of life.

Our contribution to SDG 1: No Poverty

EnableMe plays a vital role in advancing Sustainable Development Goal 1 by tackling poverty among people with disabilities through empowerment and inclusion. Our platforms ensures that enabling information is easily accessible, helping individuals manage economic and social risks, even in the face of conflict or adversity. By building peer-based self-help communities, EnableMe facilitates the exchange of practical advice and lived experiences, guiding users toward financial aid, support programs, and employment opportunities. EnableMe Insights contributes to financial independence by compensating participants for their involvement in research and development processes, offering both income and a platform to influence inclusive solutions. Additionally, inclusion services such as SafeSpace help create environments where people with disabilities can thrive socially and professionally, contributing to long-term poverty reduction. These combined efforts support the journey out of poverty and toward sustainable socio-economic empowerment.

Our contribution to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being

EnableMe contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 3 by promoting the physical and mental well-being of people with disabilities through access to reliable health information, peer support, and inclusive programming. Our platforms empowers users to make informed decisions about their care and navigate healthcare systems more effectively. Its self-help community reduces isolation and supports mental health through shared experience and mutual encouragement. Inclusion services like SafeSpace further enhance workplace mental health by encouraging open dialogue and acceptance of both visible and invisible health conditions. Through these multifaceted approaches, EnableMe supports holistic health and well-being for people with disabilities.

Our contribution to SDG 4: Quality Education

EnableMe supports Sustainable Development Goal 4 by promoting inclusive, equitable access to lifelong learning opportunities for people with disabilities. Our platforms provides accessible, easy-to-understand information that empowers users to develop essential life skills, enhance their knowledge, and make informed decisions. Through its peer-based self-help communities, EnableMe fosters the sharing of educational resources, advice, and experiences related to learning, training, and skill development. Where relevant, EnableMe Insights also contributes by involving people with disabilities in shaping more inclusive educational tools and platforms. By highlighting inclusive education practices and supporting organizations in creating accessible learning environments, EnableMe helps remove barriers and empower people with disabilities through education.

Our contribution to SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth

EnableMe advances Sustainable Development Goal 8 by promoting inclusive economic participation and decent work opportunities for people with disabilities. Through our accessible platforms and peer-based communities, EnableMe shares employment-related information, advice, and personal stories that help users navigate the job market and improve their employability. Our platforms also support organizations in implementing disability-inclusive hiring practices and workplace cultures, ensuring that people with disabilities can access dignified, productive employment.

Through our inclusion services, EnableMe Jobs, our apprenticeship portal, and the Connect networking project, we raise awareness among companies about the sustainable competitive advantages that an inclusive corporate culture brings. In this way, we support both young people and adults with disabilities in gaining access to decent jobs while simultaneously promoting sustainable economic growth.

These combined efforts contribute to sustainable economic growth by tapping into the potential of a diverse and often underrepresented workforce.

Our contribution to SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

EnableMe supports Sustainable Development Goal 9 by leveraging digital innovation to create accessible information infrastructure and promote inclusive technological development for people with disabilities. Our platforms uses digital tools to overcome traditional barriers to information, communication, and participation in society, while its self-help forum fosters access to innovative solutions and infrastructure tailored to diverse needs. Through EnableMe Insights, people with disabilities are actively involved in surveys and product testing, helping to shape sustainable, accessible services and technologies. Their participation not only leads to more inclusive design but also sparks innovation—historically, the unique perspectives of people with disabilities have contributed to widely used solutions such as text messaging and the electric toothbrush. EnableMe also offers inclusion services like SafeSpace, which inspire companies to rethink internal practices and embed accessibility into their innovation strategies. By empowering users and guiding organizations toward inclusive design, EnableMe supports the creation of resilient, adaptive, and equitable infrastructure that benefits all members of society.

Our contribution to SDG 10: Reduce inequality

EnableMe directly contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 10 by actively working to reduce systemic inequalities faced by people with disabilities. Our platforms promotes inclusion by providing accessible information, peer support, and advocacy tools that empower individuals to navigate everyday systems—such as healthcare, education, and employment—which are often not designed with accessibility in mind. Through its self-help forum and peer programs, EnableMe fosters connection, mutual learning, and the exchange of lived experiences, helping to reduce social isolation and promote equal participation. Inclusion services such as SafeSpace also encourage companies to adopt open and supportive approaches to visible and invisible disabilities, helping embed equity into organizational cultures. Together, these efforts promote social cohesion and work toward a society where all individuals—regardless of ability—have the opportunity to participate equally and fully.

Our contribution to SDG 17: Partnerships to achieve the goals

EnableMe embodies Sustainable Development Goal 17 by building strong partnerships that drive disability inclusion and amplify impact. The platforms collaborates with NGOs, governments, private sector organizations, and communities to scale access to enabling information and inclusive services. Through these partnerships, EnableMe supports the co-creation of programs, resources, and advocacy efforts that align with the broader SDG agenda. By serving as a bridge between stakeholders, EnableMe ensures that the voices and needs of people with disabilities are included in development efforts, promoting shared responsibility and collective progress toward the global goals.

Inclusion can only be achieved together. Within the self-help forum, we therefore build a bridge between people with disabilities and professionals . Through our inclusion services  for companies, EnableMe Jobs , our apprenticeship portal , and the Connect networking project , we cooperate with various partners, creating common ground to advance the inclusion of people with disabilities. Today, EnableMe has more than 14,000 registered members, over 100 pro bono experts, and more than 100 partner organizations, demonstrating the power of collective commitment to inclusive progress.
